Josh Ellis — The Physio Josh

Hi, I'm Josh

I'm a qualified and HCPC registered physiotherapist with over 3 years of experience across the NHS and private sector. After working in hospitals and clinics, I founded The Physio Josh to bring expert physiotherapy directly to people's homes across Coggeshall, Colchester, Braintree, Witham and the surrounding North Essex towns and villages.

I believe that recovery happens best where you feel most comfortable. By treating you at home, I can design exercises and rehab programmes that fit seamlessly into your daily life — using your own space, your own furniture, and your own routine.

My approach combines hands-on manual therapy with the latest evidence-based exercise prescription, with a special interest in ankle, knee and shoulder rehabilitation. I take the time to listen, educate, and empower every patient to take an active role in their recovery.

What I Stand For

Everything I do is guided by these core values.

Patient-Centred Care

You're the expert on your own body. I listen carefully, involve you in decisions, and build treatment plans around your goals — not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Evidence-Based Practice

Every treatment I provide is grounded in the latest clinical research and best-practice guidelines, ensuring you receive the most effective care available.

Education & Empowerment

I don't just treat symptoms — I help you understand your condition so you can manage it confidently and prevent future problems.

Convenience & Comfort

No travel, no waiting rooms, no disruption. Professional physiotherapy delivered to your door at a time that suits you.

Goal-Oriented Outcomes

Whether it's getting back on the sports field or walking to the shops pain-free, everything we do is focused on achieving your personal goals.

Trust & Professionalism

Fully qualified, insured, and DBS checked. You can be confident you're in safe, professional hands — every single visit.

The Home Advantage

There are real, evidence-backed benefits to receiving physiotherapy in your own home.

Real-World Rehab

I can assess the actual environment you live in — your stairs, your bathroom, your garden path — and design exercises that directly address the challenges you face every day. This leads to faster, more functional recovery.

Better Compliance

Research shows that patients are more likely to stick with their exercise programmes when they've been taught in the environment where they'll do them. No gym equipment needed — just what you have at home.

No Barriers to Access

If you're post-surgery, have limited mobility, or find it difficult to travel — home visits remove those obstacles completely. Expert care comes to you, regardless of your circumstances.

Undivided Attention

Unlike busy clinics where therapists juggle multiple patients, every home visit is dedicated entirely to you. A full session of one-on-one assessment, treatment, and guidance.
