Understanding the Problem

The weeks after orthopaedic surgery are precisely when travelling to a clinic is hardest — you may not be driving, stairs and car transfers are difficult, and energy is limited. Yet this is also when consistent rehabilitation matters most. Home-based post-operative physiotherapy removes the travel barrier entirely, and lets your rehab be built around the exact environment you're recovering in: your stairs, your bathroom, your bed height.

I treat patients at home across Coggeshall, Colchester, Braintree, Witham, Halstead, Kelvedon, Tiptree and Earls Colne — with travel included in the session fee. See full pricing here.

What Treatment Looks Like

Protocol-led progression

I work to your surgical team's post-operative protocol — whether that's a hip or knee replacement, ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair or spinal surgery — and progress you through each phase safely.

Practical, real-world milestones

Getting in and out of your own bath, managing your own staircase, walking to your local shop — rehab at home targets the milestones that actually matter to your independence.

Joined-up communication

With your consent, I can update your surgeon or GP on progress, and flag anything that needs their attention early.

Common Questions

Often within days of discharge, depending on your procedure and surgeon's guidance. Early appropriate movement is linked to better outcomes in most orthopaedic protocols.
Yes, with your consent — I follow your surgical team's protocol and can provide progress updates or raise concerns with them directly.
For most orthopaedic procedures, research shows home-based rehabilitation achieves outcomes comparable to clinic programmes — with the added advantage that exercises are taught in the environment where you'll actually do them.
