Tips for Your Recovery

Some general principles that apply to almost everyone going through physiotherapy.

🏃

Stay Active

Movement is medicine. Gentle activity — even walking — helps your body heal. Rest is important, but too much rest can slow recovery. Follow your exercise programme and stay as active as your condition allows.

📋

Do Your Exercises

The exercises I prescribe are a core part of your treatment. Consistency is key — a little every day is better than a big session once a week. Set reminders, pair them with a daily habit, and track your progress.

Communicate

Let me know how things are going between sessions. If something hurts more than expected, or you're unsure about an exercise, get in touch. Your feedback helps me fine-tune your programme.

😴

Prioritise Sleep

Quality sleep is when your body does its best healing. If pain is disrupting your sleep, tell me — there are often simple strategies that can help, like positioning tips or relaxation techniques.

🥗

Eat Well

Good nutrition supports tissue healing. Focus on a balanced diet with plenty of protein, fruits, vegetables, and staying well hydrated. This is especially important during post-surgical recovery.

📈

Be Patient

Recovery isn't always linear. Some days will feel better than others, and that's completely normal. Trust the process, celebrate small wins, and know that progress often happens gradually.
